The first day of the Open Dutch Sailing Championships has started in nice conditions. All scheduled races have been sailed, the battle for the Dutch title is on.
The Open Dutch Sailing Championship (ODSC) is traditionally sailed in the third full weekend of September. The Regatta Center Medemblik is once again the place where the Dutch Championships are organized, this year for no less than 15 classes. New added are the Soling and the Nacra 15. With also the High Performance classes and the F18, it promises to be a spectacular event.
The Open Dutch Sailing Championships takes place from 14 to 16 September at the Sailing Center Medemblik. 15 different classes will battle for the National title. With them Florine Bramervaer from Medemblik in the 4e9erFX.
The World Champion Splash from 2017, Aaron van Dok, switched to the Laser Radial this year. He was searching for a new challenge after the Splash and found it in the Radial. At the Open Dutch Sailing Championships, he will fight for the Dutch title, although he doesn't expect to end up on the podium. For him, this year is to get used to the boat, that's very different from the Splash.
Laser sailor Niels Broekhuizen is going to sail the Open Dutch Sailing Championships in the Finn, in stead of his Laser. We talked to him about why he makes this transfer and he tells about his future.
